Accountability, evidence and corrections

How PlugInSolarCheck checks UK plug-in solar

PlugInSolarCheck is a specialist UK resource for plug-in solar. Its job is to make exact-system compliance, current rules, realistic savings and buying evidence easier to understand without blurring technical evidence with commercial relationships.

Reviewer

George Brocklehurst — Electrical Engineer

George reviews the site’s electrical, product and compliance claims. The engineering perspective is used to challenge vague marketing language, keep connection types separate and ask whether the evidence supports the exact complete system being discussed.

This is not a claim that every product on the site has been installed or laboratory tested by PlugInSolarCheck. Unless a page explicitly describes first-hand testing, photographs, measurements or installation experience, treat it as a desk review of published evidence.

How compliance evidence is handled

1. Exact identity first

Compliance follows the exact ENA reference and complete system identity. A brand name, wattage or similar-looking product is not enough.

2. Status and provenance are separate

The site records what the current exact reference says and separately records whether the evidence came from a direct ENA record or a dated ENA-derived snapshot.

3. Retail evidence is separate

Price, stock and retailer links can change without changing compliance. A compliant entry is not automatically a buying recommendation.

4. History is retained

If a reference disappears from a later snapshot, the previous evidence is retained. Absence alone is not described as withdrawal, revocation or approval.

The compliance tracker is the main public output of this process. Last-checked dates are shown on the tracker and commercial data keeps its own checked dates.

Physical testing: what has and has not been tested

PlugInSolarCheck does not label a product “tested” simply because its manual, ENA entry or retailer page was reviewed. First-hand testing will be identified explicitly and should include the hardware used, setup, conditions, measurements, photographs or screenshots, and limitations.

Until that evidence exists for a product, the site uses terms such as checked, reviewed, listed or compared—not hands-on tested.

Commercial relationships

PlugInSolarCheck can earn money from affiliate links, direct partner arrangements and other clearly disclosed commercial relationships. Those relationships can make a genuinely suitable, buyable product easier to find, but they do not change an ENA status, evidence tier or technical conclusion.

For the current Thunder Energy arrangement, code PLUGSLR20 gives readers £20 off eligible Bolt systems and PlugInSolarCheck receives £40 per completed eligible purchase. Compliance conclusions for those exact Bolt references are based on their ENA evidence, not the partnership.

Freshness and corrections

Product Watch runs every 48 hours. Each successful run updates the public source-check timestamp automatically. When the exact-reference register content is unchanged, the reviewed snapshot date advances too; when compliance evidence changes, the newer check is shown as awaiting review rather than being silently published. Retailer price, stock and offer sources are refreshed by the same watch where stable sources are available.

If you spot an incorrect reference, status, price, broken link or unclear claim, email contact@pluginsolarcheck.co.uk. Corrections should preserve what changed and why rather than quietly rewriting the history.
